The Legacy of Take Off
Following a shooting that happened Nov.1 outside of a downtown Houston bowling alley, rapper Takeoff was shot and killed. He lost his life at the age of 28, after an altercation that broke out and escalated when someone took out a firearm. This story is still developing.
Even after Take Off’s death, his legacy still lives on through his music and the many fans that he inspired. Kirshnik Khari Ball, also known as Take Off, was born June 18, 1994, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Raised by his mother alongside family members, Take Off started making beats in seventh grade, but stopped producing music professionally up until 2011. Take Off, alongside Qauvo, his uncle, and Off Set, his cousin, formed the group Migos in 2008. One of Take Off’s debut songs was “Bad and Boujee” (feat. Lil Uzi Vert) performing with Quavo and Offset and Lil Uzi Vert. In total, the Migos had four studio albums, 49 music videos, 53 singles, and two Platinum albums.
