The Eras Tour has been a smashing success in the United States for Taylor Swift. However, her fans, commonly referred to as ‘Swifties,’ weren’t able to go for reasons ranging from show sellouts, to ticket prices, to financial limitations.
A docu-movie is scheduled to be released Oct. 13 and people like Laura Danehower, 11, are excited for the theatrical release.
“I’m seeing it because I wasn’t able to buy tickets the first time around,” Danehower said. “I feel very excited and very joyful about it.”
Courtney Tegethoff, 10, said she was excited to see the movie because her mom didn’t get to go to the concert with her and the film would offer them the chance to see the performance together.
For those who don’t know or are not familiar with the upcoming docu-movie, the film will be about the Eras Tour, the behind-the-scenes of the concert, and other snippets of what goes on during the show.
Although she wasn’t able to attend the concert, Sydney Frazier, 11, said she enjoyed watching videos of the concert and especially enjoyed Swift’s outfits and her stage presence.
Unlike the public sets, some of the shows changed each concert.
Tegethoff said she was interested to see how the surprise songs that Swift includes at the end of each concert will be handled by the production company in the film.
At every concert after playing her 1989 album set, Swift surprises fans with two random acoustic songs, one on the piano and one on the guitar. Swift has also used this part of the show to make announcements about future albums, including “Speak Now (Taylor’s version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s version).”
“I really actually like when movies are released in theaters because it gives you a chance to go with your friends, to dress up, to have a social event about the movie, instead of watching it by yourself,” Frazier said.
