Lego enthusiasts all over northwest Arkansas gathered for the opening of the Pinnacle Hills Lego Store in August. The opening of the new lego store allows fans to visit anytime they want to experience what it’s like to create their own world.
“The LEGO Store at Pinnacle Hills will deliver unforgettable immersive experiences with the widest range of LEGO products, hands-on play opportunities for our visitors, exclusive promotions, and fun events held in-store,” said Travis Blue, vice president of Americas and EMEA brand retail stores, in a news release from the company.
“I went the day after the grand opening, when there were a lot of people,” said Victoria Silva, 11. “It is a good store for all ages to come and get LEGO sets and gifts for friends and family.”
Despite the excitement for the grand opening, crowds presented a challenge for some.
“I tried to go to the grand opening the day of, but as soon as I drove past the Lego store, there was a line of 90 people and no parking,” said J.D. Delgado, 11.
Regardless of the chaos on opening day, Delgado said he is excited to have a local brick-and-mortar Lego store so close.
Now that there’s a local store in the mall, shoppers don’t have to rely on ordering merchandise online. The store offers a variety of Lego sets for all ages and interests such as Disney, Harry Potter, Cars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel and much more.
“I can just go to the mall to look at the options and see which one I want to buy,” Silva said. “My favorite Lego set would probably have to be the Bowser set from Mario.”
While Lego toys have previously been mainstreamed as a childs toy, there are many sets geared towards adult interests, with more complexity to the pieces.
Legos often serve as a stress reliever for all ages, or even as collectors items for some, Silva said.
A build-your-own Lego station has been added to the store as well, offering a unique experience to anyone wanting to customize their own Legos.
“I’m excited about it because I’d always go from store to store looking for a new Lego set that I don’t have. And the Lego store is right down the street from my house – they have a bunch more Legos that I don’t have yet,” Delgado said.
