Hundreds of hours poured into building a place of gathering for soccer fans all over the state; a new era of Fútbol has officially begun.
The new minor league soccer field serves as a way of communion between the players of the world famous sport. The stadium has the potential to open opportunities for many young soccer players in the community.
“I think we’re going to see kids that are here in high school, play club that are going to try to go pro, and I think this is a good start for them,” said Oscar Cardona, girls soccer coach.
Ozark United FC’s new stadium is planned to have a seating capacity of 5,000. The stadium is expected to be completed before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, aligning with the club’s goal to join the USL Championship by that time.
“I hope that the owners make the stadium accessible to many, so that anyone can enjoy a match of the world’s best sport,” said Fabricio Ramero, 11.
With the new stadium being built, people feel ecstatic, and they have a sense of promise that this stadium will be an amazing opportunity for Rogers soccer as a whole. “I think it’s awesome that we’re going to get a stadium here in Rogers,” said Cardona, “I think it’s going to uplift soccer big time, especially with having a pro team.”
The new field brings a sense of excitement for the community, as well as a financial boost for the sponsors.
“This stadium will bring many opportunities financially for Rogers soccer,” Ramero said.
With the heart of young talent and uproaring players, this stadium will not only bring out the best potential in everyone, but also be the root that carries the core of soccer in Arkansas.
“I believe this will bring the best out of all involved,” said Stephen Peck, boys head soccer coach.
