December 1972 was the last time a man stepped on the moon. That man was Eugene A. Cernan. On January 17, 2017 he was pronounced dead. Cernan died in Houston, Texas. He was 82 years old. Cernan was the commander in Apollo 17. He was one out of the three men who traveled to the moon twice.
