I would like to tell you about the best experience in my life. The best experience in my life was attending the Upward Bound Program at the University of Arkansas. This program helped me to be occupied during the summer and not being in bed doing nothing. It helped me with learning new things for the upcoming school year. I lived in the dorms for 5 weeks with my roommate Shakira Haro. On the weekends we would go home to our families and spend the time with them. So we wouldn’t always be there. Every week we would at least have an event like parties, survivor games, or go to dinner on Dickson St. I would have a mentor and a group of girls called family. Those girls would always help me when I was needy. I would help them also. My mentor Emilia Barrack was the best. Words can’t explain how close of a friend she was to me. Being in this program was the best experience in my life. My worst experience in my life isn’t that special. One day I went to the boys and girls club with my big brother, David who was 12 at the time. I was like around the age of 8. I was too scared to ask where the restroom was at, so I used the restroom in my pants. My mom picked us up and the staff told her what I have done. Everyone knew that I had stained my pants. And of course they were laughing. My mom never took me back to the boys and girls club and I thank her for that. I hate talking about my worst experience because every time I remember this memory I want to smack myself for never asking where the restroom was at.
